University Housing strives to provide an exceptional residential experience by delivering educational opportunities and supportive services that foster diverse engagement, individual growth and community belonging.
Annual Events
Splatter Dance
Residential Life and SUAAB partner each spring to host this exciting event. Music sets the mood, and students sport large drums and mallets to splatter themselves and each other with colorful (and washable!) paint.
Trunk or Treat
Held during the week of Halloween, Residential Life and student organizations provide a fun and safe environment for the campus and local community to bring their children for trick-or-treat fun. Student volunteers dress up and lead families through a maze of car trunks and collect goodies along the way.
Thanksgiving Dinner
Residential Life partners with International Student Services to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal to students who stay on campus for the holiday. Participants enjoy a delicious home-cooked turkey dinner along with a welcoming community.
Crawfish Boil
The annual Crawfish Boil provides students with a true Cajun experience near the end of the spring semester. Hundreds of pounds of crawfish and a zydeco band turn the University Village pool area into a Louisiana outdoor hangout. Residents gather to celebrate the end of another year, pose for photos with a life-sized crawfish mascot, and enjoy some delicious crawfish.
